Simone Meuse is an Acadian artist from West Pubnico. The eldest daughter of fourteen children, Simone had to quickly learn to be resourceful. At a young age, Simone found a discarded box of watercolors in the woods behind her grandfather’s home. Since there were still lots of watercolors left, except white, Simone decided to take them home. With this set, and using shoe polish for white paint, she painted her first scene — on a piece of cardboard from a shoebox.

Simone has come a long way since those early days. Over her fifty year artistic career, she has painted and illustrated for schools, churches, and various projects using watercolors, oils, and, her most favorite of all, Prismacolor wooden pencils. In the 1990's, Simone illustrated and wrote a full-color book on angels – a book that had been growing in her mind since she was a child.

Simone’s artwork is inspired by her feelings. She puts her inner spirit in everything she does.
